Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Manager for our IT Service Delivery and Tools & Automation teams that manage the IT infrastructure and support the implementation of our strategic goals.  We are looking for someone to help lead the effort to automate and streamline our operations, monitoring and processes.  You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, test and production environments.  The IT Operations Manager must foster a culture of innovation and creativity to ensure that teams are comfortable with rapid change.  The role requires a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and the ability to implement strategic plans.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Coach and manage an IT operations team responsible for a highly available, critical Microsoft and Linux based environment
• Maintain, track and review proactive monitoring and alerting of critical systems and events
• Maintain, track and review disaster recovery systems, monitoring, policies, and procedures and executing regular testing
• Support the definition and enforcement of ITIL-based policies
• Lead improvements efforts with operations including automation of routine tasks
• Manage data center operations, networking and telephony functions
• Foster a team environment of curiosity and continuous improvement
• Establish, track and review SLAs and KPIs for operational services and meet defined performance measures
• Recruit, mentor, coach and develop team members
• Ensure continuity of operations and manage the technical life cycle of assets
• Assist in the development and management of budgets for capital and operating expenses
• Communicate, both verbally and in writing, to explain how the various technical pieces work to provide useful solutions to the business.

Minimum Requirements
5+ years of IT people management experience

Critical Skills
• Proven experience in a 24x7 operational environment
• Strong understanding of .net technologies, virtualization, and databases
• Strong understanding of data center networking including load balancers, DNS and wide area networks
• Experience with server virtualization technologies
• Experience with hybrid (cloud and on-premises) infrastructure management
• Experience using ITIL practices for change, incident and problem management 
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• A bias for action and a curious nature that is comfortable questioning the status quo
• The ability to instill trust and confidence in business partners and team members
• History of demonstrating excellent technology leadership and decision making
• Attention to security issues and vulnerability management

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Rackspace)
• Experience building dashboards to accurately reflect the user experience
• Solid understanding of storage technologies
• Experience with independent audits (e.g. ISO)
