Position Title: Computer Security Systems Specialist
Location: Fort Lee, Virginia
Position Status: Contract to Hire
 
Responsibilities:
  • Performs end user problem resolution with hardware and software that comprises the Desktop Common Operating Environment (DCOE).
  • Answers all calls routed or transferred to calling queue and ensures that the caller has issues logged into a Remedy ticket.
  • Assists the Agency in developing and publishing policy, standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, technical bulletins and other documents in support of the DCOE and the Enterprise Service Desk.
  • Performs all install, moves, add and changes to assets that comprise the DCOE.
  • Manages the printers connected to the Agency’s network ensuring compliance with DoD STIGS and USGCB settings. 
  • Support includes adding new printers, configuring, downloading drivers, and technical support to the end user.
  • Maintains the documented Windows 7 or higher baseline configuration and ensuring any deviations required are processed through the Agency’s change control process.
  • Documents, configures, and ensures Windows applications are patched to ensure that no Category I, Category II, or Category III Information Assurance Vulnerabilities are identified in the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) without an approved POA&M. Provides technical remediation in support of DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS).  
  • Coordinates vulnerability assessments on new and existing application software or systems as identified by the Agency.
  • Ensures all issues are documented in the Remedy database, resolve all operating issues and document resolutions.
  • Provides support to ensure the successful use of audio visual and collaborative technologies for multimedia conferences and presentation.
  • Infrequent off-site travel that has historically occurred less than four times a year reimbursable in accordance with DoD Joint Travel regulations at Government expense.
  • Supports all approved applications in the DCOE to include desktop productivity suites (like MS Office and Outlook), browser applications, Virtual Private Network (VPN) software, and all other supported applications.
  • Supports and configure Mobile Devices used by Senior Executives like Blackberry, iPads, Tablets and other mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoots various network capabilities such as: Wireless network connections, wireless broadband cards, Local Area Network and Wide Area Network issues.
 
Required: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 3-5 years of directly related experience supporting help desk operations.
  • Candidate must have a Security+ certification.
 
Additional: 
  • Candidate is desired to have 5 + years of experience in a Windows environment.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a background check that will result in the issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).
