OVERVIEW:
This is a director level position. We are looking for someone with 10+ years of experience. Responsible for leading the environmental, health and safety (EHS) program across manufacturing sites, R&D centers, global offices, and the extended value chain. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE FORTUNE 100 COMPANY EXPERIENCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and deploy strategic initiatives that reduce/eliminate risk, continually improve EHS performance, and reduce incidents.
  • Lead a high-impact, metric-based global EHS program that is embraced by the organization.
  • Establish EHS program direction and priorities, plan and direct enhancements or modifications as required.  
  • Ensure EHS management and governance processes/systems are in place to reduce EHS risk in accordance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and best practices. 
  • Advise management on high risk EHS issues and effectively work with company and business leaders in crafting solutions for resolving gaps.
  • Track regulatory reforms and conduct on-going risk analyses to identify emerging EHS risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Promote knowledge transfer through best practice sharing, mentoring and training.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and manage direct and indirect reports - setting goals and priorities accordingly.  
  • Lead EHS due diligence reviews for acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and globalization activities. Develop and implement EHS integration plan(s) for new facilities and businesses  
  • Represent organization in industry EHS associations 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:      
  • BS degree in relevant technical field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 10 years of direct EHS experience implementing and managing proven EHS programs and solutions in global multi-site environment
  • Previous experience in leading and coaching teams in a matrix environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Advanced degree in relevant science or engineering field preferred
  • Experience in the petrochemical or chemical industry preferred
  • Professional certification CHMM, CSP, or CIH preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt/Lean Expert certification preferred.
