Government Agency  is currently seeking FT Sr. Communication Analyst/PM to provide onsite support in Arlington, Va full time through August/September 2017 and then in Alexandria, Va.

The Role:
  • Act as a liaison between the IT Communications team and the Federal Leads
  • Manage the staff of the IT Communications Team
  • Support the Federal leadership in leading and managing delivery of communications portfolio products, budget, resource management/staffing and communication team members
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders – including OIRM staff, Policy Office, customer support staff, IT customers, grantees; maintain positive relationships with all Federal PMs and other internal stakeholders involved in daily project activities
  • Direct, lead, and oversee development of communications, reviewing work of team members to ensure the team is delivering high-quality products, such as communications plans, emails, web content, posters/fliers, system announcements, newsletter articles, presentations, training documents, release and maintenance communications, and system help documentation
  • Continually assess and recommend enhancements to better integrate, share information and enhance service delivery
  • Serve as lead communications point of contact for multiple projects within DIS, and lead communications of IT projects as needed
  • Develop supporting materials including talking points, briefings, 1-pagers and other products as needed for senior Federal leads
  • Provide strategic insight to team members to help them develop and execute communications plans
  • Facilitate major meetings (e.g. project kick off or project planning) with Federal PMs as they relate to specific projects or work streams
  • Report on all activities to DIS IT Communications Federal Leads and ITSIS Portfolio Managers 
     
  • What You Need to Bring to the Table:
  • Project/staff management (minimum 6 years)
  • Communications and outreach (minimum 6 years)
  • Stakeholder management (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong understanding of IT Systems Development Lifecycle, technology, change management (minimum 2 years), and Federal grants management lifecycle (minimum 2 years); experience with Federal grants management lifecycle a plus
  • Additionally, this individual should:
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills
  • Demonstrate strong writing, editing, presentation and promotional skills
  • Possess exceptional client and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Be able to oversee junior staff and support them as needed in interacting with Federal leads
  • Be able to provide big picture, out-of-the-box ideas and be detail-oriented
  • Possess understanding of PMO functions
  • Be highly organized; able to multi-task, meet deadlines and support a busy project team
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills; be able to juggle multiple concurrent tasks
  • Be highly motivated, flexible, a team player, and a support lead to team members
  • Be able to work on-site at in Alexandria full-time
