 Government Agency is currently seeking a Full Time Security Engineer/Analyst to provide onsite support in Alexandria, Va. Here is a great opportunity to join our collaborative team, and father your career while supporting a federal regulatory agency.
The Role:
  • Act as a key resource in developing all Authorization to Operate (ATO) documents for pre-existing applications including the System Security Plan (SSP), FIPS 199, Risk Assessment, Configuration Management Plan (CMP), etc. 
  • Interpret security control requirements and communicate what is needed to the project team (Developers, Network Engineers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, etc.) in laymen terms and act as the security liaison between the security team and the project team.
  • Integral involvement with the ATO process from beginning to end
  • Interface with federal employees and contractors in order to develop and review ATO documentation (System Security Plans, Configuration Management Plans, etc.)
  • Understand and interpret security controls
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
  • 3+ years of IT experience
  • 3+ years of information security experience
  • 3+ years using NIST 800-53/800-53A
  • 3+ years working with a government agency in a IT Security role
  • 2+ years of experience creating or maintaining security related documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience with 3 or more years of related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree/IT related field
  • Prior experience working with a wide variety of technologies, be well versed in the current state of information security, be able to interpret the requirements, guidelines, practices, and publications of relevant governing bodies (NIST, OMB, GAO, etc.)
  • Have knowledge of/previous experience with web application assessments, security architecture and design, and security awareness and training
Desired Qualifications:
  • Professional Security Certification (CISA, CAP, CASP, CISSP, etc.)
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and business stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment with changing priorities
Clearance Required: US Citizen - Must be able to obtain "Public Trust" level clearance.
