Position Description:
Our client is looking for Flight Systems Test Analyst candidates for a position located in Tullahoma, TN.  Flight Systems Test Analyst must possess the knowledge and skills to understand and apply a variety of analytical techniques to formulate and solve problems; plan for future technologies; and define requirements for systems and test programs in the AEDC transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic wind tunnels.  Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with customers to develop a thorough understanding of requirements and provide reliable, statistically defensible solutions to complex technical challenges. Candidate will provide expertise and recommendations to reach a near final solution for test analysis and reporting prior to the Government delivering statements of capability (SOC), data/test analysis results, and final products to customers. Candidate will support the integration of strategically-focused activities to create new and enhanced RDT&E capabilities that support next generation DoD systems.
The Flight Systems Analyst will provide:
  • Evaluation and analysis in support of test programs in the Flight Systems Combined Test Force (CTF) in the AEDC Propulsion Wind Tunnel (PWT) Complex and the Von Karman Facility (VKF). 
  • May support tasks associated with investment, acquisition, technology, and other CTF test programs as required. 
  • Assist in defining requirements, assessing test conditions, addressing test cell /test article interactions, evaluating test article performance, and formally documenting the results. 
  • Assist in generating analysis objectives, success criteria, and measures of performance which support the evaluation of aerospace weapon systems; participate in CTF test planning; and support all phases of testing (occasional shift-work required during testing). 
  • Support analysis-technique development efforts to advance the state-of-the-art analysis capabilities at AEDC, particularly in the field of optical measurement techniques and image processing. 
  • Specific knowledge and expertise, particularly in the fields air vehicle stability and control; aircraft performance; store separation and trajectory simulation; propulsion-inlet integration; subsonic, transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic aerodynamics; statistical methods and statistically defensible analysis techniques. 
Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in related discipline.
  • Must have 3-10 years directly related experience.
  • Experience in data analysis and optical measurement technologies in high speed wind tunnels, and should have or be able to develop an understanding of the specific procedures and processes of AFTC, DoDI 5000.02, and/or other USAF regulations.
  • Be able to interface and communicate well with Government counterparts and AEDC customers on both technical and programmatic levels.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Be proficient in scientific computing and programming (Python, Matlab, C++, etc...)
  • Have experience with optical measurement techniques and image processing.
  • Have experience working in wind tunnels, or similar aerospace test environment.
  • Be willing to support occasional shift-work (nights/weekends) during testing.
Desired Skills:
Experience with computational heat transfer, infrared thermography, and other optical measurement techniques is strongly desired.
