3 years’ experience in operating and monitoring IBM DB2, IBM DataStage, IBM Infosphere MDM and IBM WebSphere Data Service applications

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Operations and Maintenance Manager, this individual is responsible for maintaining the Production operations, performance and maintenance for the IBM Master Data Management (MDM) and IBM Information Server system.  Rely on extensive experience and judgment to provide consultation on complex business applications and processes.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve errors in Production jobs (DataStage ETL jobs, database maintenance jobs, Unix Jobs etc.)
  • Verify that DataStage ETL processes are completed successfully every day
  • Monitor and troubleshoot IBM WebSphere data services
  • Monitor IBM Infosphere MDM operations and maintenance
  • Participate in a rotating On-Call schedule supporting 24-hour, 7-day database operations
  • Maintain reporting logs and dashboards
  • Manage incidents and promptly respond to user requests
  • Ensure that the best practices for are in place and being followed
  • Document processes and update the Operations Guide with changes to standard operating procedures
  • Perform weekly maintenance during on call weekend
Required Education and Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and UNIX data base environments operating in a multi-platform, multi-vendor environment
  • Advanced knowledge of DBMS concepts and support methodologies, performance tuning, debugging and trouble-shooting techniques, logical and physical design, stored procedures, triggers and utilities
  • Proficiency in SQL and use of interactive editing tools
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a professional demeanor, proven analysis and problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal and writing skills, On-Call experience, and the ability to work with those having wide-ranging levels of expertise
  • 3 years’ experience in operating and monitoring IBM DB2, IBM DataStage, IBM Infosphere MDM and IBM WebSphere Data Service applications
  • Experience with Performance monitoring tools like DynaTrace, CA Wily or similar tools
  • 3 years’ experience in production support role involving high availability production environments
Desired Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Tech or related field and 3 years info technology experience, 2 of which must be experience in system administration
  • Experience in the following areas: database performance monitoring and tuning; database error analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Experience with physical and logical database design; change management procedures, scripting, stored procedures, triggers and alerts
