Position Description:
Our client is looking for Embedded Engineer candidates for a position located in Greenbelt, VA.  Our client is seeking a technically qualified engineer to provide software development and software/hardware integration support for the Goddard Dynamic Simulator (GDS) for multiple mission implementation. The GDS is used to test both software and hardware flight systems. The GDS software integrates the dynamics equations of motion for a spacecraft, models environmental forces acting on the spacecraft, models spacecraft components such as reaction wheels, thrusters, star trackers, other actuators and sensors, as well as instruments.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related area of engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics.
Required Skills:
  • Ten (10) years of software systems engineering working in such areas as end-to-end data systems engineering; flight, ground, and science data processing systems development; and/or software testing.
  • Experience with hardware/software interfaces, and associated integration and test.
  • Ability to develop requirements documentation.
  • Ability to write software, typically in C++ in real time embedded systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink
Desired Skills:
  • Prior experience with Goddard Dynamic Simulator (GDS) development and testing, or development and testing of other simulator systems.
  • Knowledge of NPR 7150.2 and associated software development processes and practices.
