Description:
The senior Oracle developer position calls for a driven and detail-oriented individual who will be tasked with maintaining, upgrading and integrating a mature custom-built Oracle application into our SOA platform.  The individual will work well both on a team and independently to provide business value.
Responsibilities
This is a development position which will involve working across all phases of the development lifecycle. You will be asked to:
  • Design / implement according to defined solution
  • Perform limited design tasks
  • Make estimates
  • Produce technical documentation
  • Customize and integrate with third-party systems
  • Contribute to the build/release system
Abilities
Candidates should be competent in the following areas:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including debugging
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement (both technical and process)
  • Initiative to tackle problems which may involve limited supervision.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • 5 + years of experience as an Oracle DBA, significant database upgrade experience.
  • 5 + years of Oracle Forms and Report Application Server 10g/11g/12 administration with the application server upgrade experience.
  • Oracle Database 9i/10g/11g/12C
  • 5+ years’ experience with Oracle 9i/10g/12 developer suite -Forms and Reports development and support
  • 5+ years’ experience with PL/SQL
  • Toad (or equivalent)
  • Entity Relationship Modeling
  • Familiarity with architectural concepts, patterns, and standards
Preferred Experience
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Working with SOA
  • Unit and Integration Testing
  • Experience in the Chemical or Petroleum Fields
