The Information Technology (IT) Information Systems Security Team establishes and maintains the classified technology infrastructure and application support services required by our analysts to deliver timely, objective and cost-effective analysis. We design, develop, and deploy hardware- and software based solutions in close coordination with client-facing groups while adhering to strict security protocols. 
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in information assurance technology or a related area.
• In accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01M, must meet the proficiency and certification requirements of an IAT Level II. (Acceptable certifications include Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, and GSEC).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and expert-level knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems.
• Experience monitoring network using the Host Based Security System (HBSS).
• Proficient in Windows domain administration, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Enterprise environment and the security architecture.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for working within a team environment.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Experience configuring systems for compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical ImplementationGuides (STIGs).
• Experience validating system compliance using the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Validation Tool.
• Comfortable managing secure Public Key Infrastructure environments.

Desired Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience in Information Assurance Technology or a related area.
• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53, and NISPOM.
• Experience using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability scans, network configuration assessments, and network discovery.
• Familiarity or experience administering Microsoft Exchange.
• Experience administering Red Hat Linux systems in a classified computing environment. 
• Experience managing Active Directory and Group Policy in a Windows computing environment.
Job Description:
Supports all aspects of our Information Assurance Program, which oversees network and computing environments at various classification levels. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, security assessment, and certification/accreditation process for networks and isolated systems located at our Alexandria headquarters.

Key role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans.
• Troubleshoots Windows OS issues. Independently utilizes all available resources (knowledge bases, online resources, etc.) to ensure timely resolution of server issues.
• Manages McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) and other security tools.
• Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.
• Researches, evaluates, tests, communicates and implements new security software or devices.
• Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications and information systems security education/awareness programs.
• Conducts routine investigations of information systems security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management.
• Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.
• Performs day-to-day security relevant operational maintenance, installation, support, and upgrades for operating systems, workstations, and security hardware.
• Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
• Analyzes vulnerabilities and determines actions to mitigate them.
• Supports and administers data retention and recovery within the computing environment.
• Monitors ticket management system, answer telephone calls, and e-mail requests for security relevant issues.
• Troubleshoot and maintain classified information systems (IS).
• Safeguard the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure. 
• Develops materials for computer security education/awareness programs.
