The Chief Design Engineer shares responsibility and closely coordinates with leadership for the performance of work and all contract matters relating to daily operations of this contract in accordance with program requirements, while maintaining safety as the highest priority.
The Chief Design Engineer will be available within 4 hours to meet on the installation with Government personnel as required.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research and data gathering and identify key themes, trends, and opportunities from complex data sets.
  • Capture, synthesize, and summarize key points from interviews, focus groups, and internal meetings, translating insights into draft deliverables and products.
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions to client issues and project approaches.
  • Develop accurate and complete staff documentation to support project execution and completion.
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically and learn quickly; critical thinker, analyst, and active listener.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, adhere to project plans, ensure any conflicts are brought to the attention of the management team, and multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Must have and maintain professional registration as an engineer under the requirements of the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors or as an architect under the requirements of New Mexico Board of Examiners for Architects.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the engineering section of civil engineer organization at a major US military installation (Air Force experience is preferred).
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or from a program certified by the National Architecture Accrediting Board.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
