Position Description:
Our client is looking for Java Developer candidates who are strong in back end technologies and have experience with Spark for a position located in Washington, D.C
  • Ownership of technical designs, code development, and component test execution to demonstrate adherence to the functional specification.
  • Using configuration management and integration/build automation tools to manage and deploy Java Webservices or Java Script UI code.
  • Applying knowledge of common, relevant architecture frameworks in defining and evaluating application architectures.
  • Performing code reviews and providing critical suggestions for fixes and improvements
  • Supporting issue analysis and fix activities during test phases, as well as production issue resolution.
  • Troubleshooting and performance tuning Spark Java/Scala Applications.
  • Developing and demonstrating a broad set of technology skills in Java technologies, Open Source libraries and frameworks, and technology architecture concepts.
  • Collaborating within a project team comprised of talented employees with diverse and complementary skills.
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Required Skills:
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a primary developer requiring minimal oversight
  • Experience architecting, designing, and developing Spark applications with Java EE/SE or Scala.
  • Experience using Hadoop; Hive, Spark, HDFS, Yarn
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, willing to provide alternative technical solutions
