Immediate need for a Technical Writer. The Technical Writer responsible for crafting, and editing content for large and complex proposals. This requires the capability to write with a singular, persuasive voice, while articulating and integrating a winning strategic message. The primary role is to develop proposal content either as a primary or co-writer in the areas of past performance, management, executive summaries, management, technical as well as other content areas as requested. Final writing products may be completed independently or as part of a collaborative, iterative process with other assigned personnel. This person will author, proofread, and edit proposal content.
The preferred candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to successfully execute all facets of the proposal writing process under aggressive deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work both as a team member and independently when necessary in order to meet deadline driven schedules in a fast-paced environment. Extra effort during nights and weekends may be required to meet deadlines.
  • Writes clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates technical and other ideas into easily understandable text; rewrites and reviews proposal sections and related proposal documents.
  • Under the direction of the Proposal Manager, interview technical SMEs, Program Managers, Task Leads, and other technical personnel to collect technical and methodology information and incorporate that information into developing winning proposal content
  • Under the direction of the Proposal Manager, write responses to RFIs and Corporate Capability Statements
  • Thoroughly review all proposal response volumes and sections, ensuring written consistency (one voice) in the final proposal after review of various team and technical inputs
  • Maintain and update proposal boilerplate documents and repository
  • Applies interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from Evoke personnel to support writing activities.
  • Rewrites technical materials and coordinates with technical personnel to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinates with functional areas, business areas, subcontractors and others to research and to collect data required for technical proposal development.
  • Assists during final delivery
  • Bachelors Degree in journalism, English, Communications, Business or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience. Engineering or Technology degree also highly preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience writing major proposal sections (resumes, past performance, management, etc.) and supporting the full proposal development life cycle in response to solicitations from the Federal Government.
  • Ability to surge work schedule to meet proposal schedule demands.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel skills and Visio.
  • Excellent writing skills, including understanding of grammatical rules, punctuation, sentence structure, and active/passive voice.
