Position Description:
Our client is looking for Cyber Security Lead candidates for a position located in Chantilly, VA or New Orleans, LA.  The Personnel Modernization (PersMod) Program provides the support, sustainment, upgrades, and modernization of personnel systems under the Navy's Integrated Personnel and Pay System (IPPS) strategy. Specifically it directly supports the Navy strategy to modernize, consolidate and retire legacy systems. The first major modernization will integrate and streamline the retirement and separation business processes for both officers and enlisted personnel.
As the Cyber Security Lead, you will:
  • Provide Security Engineering and Compliance oversight for multiple systems transtioning to, or operating in, AWS
  • Ensure system security needs established and maintained for operations development, systems design, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Design cyber security architectural artifacts
  • Provide architectural analysis of cyber security features
  • Relate existing system to future needs and trends and provides engineering recommendations.
  • Support the execution of all steps necessary for obtaining USN RMF accreditations. This will include system security reviews on a cloud based system, evaluating design changes for cybersecurity risk, analyzing the results of network and system vulnerability, validating the implementation of IA Controls in accordance with DoD 8500.2 and drafting accreditation support documentation
  • Provide technical and procedural oversight to Security Engineers and Analysts in regards to security tools and DoD policy
Required Education:
  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of specialized DoD systems security experience:
  • Expertise of STIGs based on validation or engineering
  • Knowledge of current security threats, techniques and landscape
  • Robust conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, technologies, products and services
  • Leading Accreditation or Authorization activities
  • 1+ years of comprehensive involvement with RMF
  • Interim DoD Secret clearance to start; Secret strongly preferred
