Our client is looking for Mechanical/Piping Designer for a position located near Richmond, VA. The client is a 300+ person multi-disciplined vertically integrated design/build firm that is headquartered in Chester, VA. Founded in 1988, our client is celebrating twenty-eight years as a leader in the industrial, general plant manufacturing, and commercial construction markets including a diverse group of industries. Their clients are primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, though they have provided professional and construction services throughout the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Asia, Brazil, and the Caribbean.
  • Responsible for the design, verification and modification to manufacturing facility mechanical and piping drawings.
  • Responsible for checking incoming vendor documentation.
  • Perform field work and technical research.
  • Maintain project files and documentation.
  • Responsible for inputting vendor documentation into facility database per required CAD standards.
  • Assist facility personnel with requests for researching, plotting and creation of new drawings as needed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Ten (10) years of heavy industrial experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2015 or later version.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in piping layout design at industrial facilities.
  • Excellent organizational, design and drafting skills.
  • Ability to travel (local) and easily move about an industrial facility.
  • Ability to read, understand and review engineering drawings.
  • Field work experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge in obtaining detailed field dimensions for arrangement drawings.
  • Experience in the layout of equipment and parts detailing.
  • Proven skills in Windows, Microsoft Office, Intergraph MicroStation, and Microsoft Project.
