Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, experienced Scrum Master to partner with our customers to effectively deliver business value and lead their teams through an Agile transformation.  
 Duties of Scrum Master
  • Influencing and guiding teams in complex and ever changing client environments 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as strong problem-solving skills
  • Support Agile Scrum Master practices, techniques, and semantics ensuring that all team-related ceremonies take place and those who attend understand their purposes
  • Identify and resolve impediments that prevent Agile teams from completing their goals at the project level
  • Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings at the client site.
  • Facilitate his/her team for better creativity and tries to improve the efficiency of the development team.
  • Helps Product Owner to groom the product backlog and ensures it is in good shape and ready for the next sprint.
  • Organizes and facilitates the sprint planning meeting to help the team reach its goals for each sprint
  • Should be a good role model in Agile practices. S/he can coach individuals and interactions over processes and tools.
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
  • Good skills to coach team how to follow agile scrum practices.
  • Strong knowledge about Agile techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing.
  • Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.
  • Understand the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules and practices.
  • Knowledge about other methodologies other than Agile-Scrum, so that he can explain other methodologies to motivate his team.
  • Know about the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
  • Familiar with common software development practices, Service oriented environments, and Agile practices.
 Position Requirements
  • Ability to Travel up to 80% around Virginia(main focus will be on Richmond and Virginia Beach)
  • 2+ years Agile Scrum Master
  • 3+ years in Project Management roles (using Agile and Traditional methods) 
  • Certified Scrum Master certification (CSM) is desired
  • Management consulting experience with teams that are new to Agile practices
  • Proficiency with Agile Lifecycle Management tools (e.g. HP Agile Manager, Rally, Version1) 
  • Some background as a developer, tester, business analyst
