The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for designing, developing and implementing effective technical solutions that leverage Business Intelligence and data visualization practices.  Solutions may include workflow technologies, new reporting capability, data manipulation and integration, linking of multiple data sources, or creation of dashboards.  Assists the business to refine requirements, and helps them discover possibilities associated with workflows, analytical improvements, or reporting.  Stays informed of the way the organization uses data and makes recommendations as needed to improve efficiencies.  
  • Provide analytical support to various departments outside of IT.  Partner with business departments to create effective BI, reporting or workflow efficiency solutions
  • Design, develop and implement technical solutions based on business requirements using Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSRS, SSIS), Tableau, Power BI, Datawatch Datapump and other workflow and data tools available
  • Create and maintain stored procedures, triggers, packages and jobs to extract data for reporting and integrating with other systems/uses
  • Assist end users with issues/questions relating to BI, the data warehouse and other processes supported by the team
  • Develop and document procedures for programs and processes
  • Perform On-call duties to include weekends, holidays and nights as needed
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of data sources
  • Maintain and update help desk tickets in accordance with the help desk policies and to ensure that the SLA requirements are being met
  • Responds to ad hoc requests and participates in ongoing report creation, administration, maintenance, trouble shooting, tuning and end user support as needed
  • Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
  • Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
  • Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including query language and optimization, T-SQL, SSIS and SSRS
  • Tableau dashboard creation, presentation, and deployment preferred
  • Knowledge of business process analysis
  • Working knowledge of ETL practices
  • Understanding of credit union business practices and data preferred
  • Operational knowledge of helpdesk software preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with databases and some experience with T-SQL, SSRS and SSIS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience turning business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience working on project teams
  • Ability to consult with end users to identify and clarify business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently with SQL databases, views, tables and related disciplines.
  • Ability to translate requirements into functional models, prototypes and live solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff
  • Ability to independently and effectively organize and manage multiple assignments with challenging deadlines
  • Ability to validate, standardize and cleanse data when needed
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and suggest alternatives, looking beyond the obvious to find answers
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize and schedule work to accommodate tight deadlines
  • Must be able to meet flexible work schedule including holidays, weekends and evenings.
Minimum Education and Experience: 
  • Work experience with strong emphasis on reporting and business analytics
  • SQL experience including SQL queries, SSIS, SSRS
  • Experience with ETL and data extracts
  • Experience documenting business processes preferred
