Position Title: Data Processing Engineer
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Position Status: Full Time
Position Description:
Our client is looking for Data Processing Engineer candidates for a position located in Birmingham, Alabama. Reporting to the Data Processing Lead, the Engineer will build and support programs for translating various customer data formats for automated bulk document composition workflows
  • Routinely evaluate, reverse-engineer and document various customer data formats in preparation for development against it
  • Build and maintain data and composition automation programs
  • Build and maintain document composition templates in GMC and eventually also Uluro
  • Strong self starter and problem solver - team currently supports nearly 300 legacy programs, many of which are minimally documented. This team must routinely troubleshoot and change these programs in the event of issues or customer changes
  • Good code documentation and testing habits
  • Limited afterhours schedule maintenance and emergency support 
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with SQL required
  • Strong experience with XML required
Desired Skills:
  • GMC experience is a plus
  • Experience with FoxPro, Access, Excel and Perl preferred
  • Familiarity with bank/credit union data formats - particularly line data or mainframe / AS400 data outputs a strong plus but not required
