Position Status: 6-month contract  
Pay Rate: Negotiable  
Shift: Monday – Friday (8am to 5pm)
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Position is responsible for designing, developing and implementing data warehouse and data mart related extraction, transformation and load functions.  Test ETL designs to ensure the system runs accurately and efficiently.  Ability to read, analyze and digest business requirement to design the ETL process around those goals.  Ensures work complies with all necessary policies and standards. Identifies and understands data sources, data normalization, constructs data diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents processes.  Stays informed of the way the organization uses data and makes recommendations as needed to improve efficiencies.  Also responsible for cultivating long-term relationships with end users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders in the use and delivery of data.
 
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of ETL and integration solutions using the Informatica platform
  • Utilize industry best practices in using Informatica
  • Develop scalable, reusable ETL jobs using the Informatica platform
  • Develop, document and maintain procedures for programs and processes
  • Help identify data quality issues and work with source systems to address
  • Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to ETL processes
  • Perform On-call duties to include weekends, holidays and nights as needed
  • Provide technical support as needed
  • Assist end users with issues/questions relating to BI, the data warehouse and other processes supported by the team
  • Ensure systems conform to all internal security, compliance, and performance requirements
  • Complete all required BSA and OFAC training.  Report all suspicious activity to Security
  • Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Knowledge:  
  • Significant knowledge of the Informatica platform
  • Working technical experience with designing, building and supporting data warehouses
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office ideal
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • General knowledge of project management and the systems development lifecycle preferred
  • Experience working with complex, large-scale relational databases, statistical programs and other tools to compile and interpret quantitative data
 
Skills:
  • Strong critical and creative reasoning skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills desired along with strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal customers and third-party vendors
  • Experience working on project teams
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills essential
 
Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff
  • Ability to validate, standardize and cleanse data when needed
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and suggest alternatives, looking beyond the obvious to find answers
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and be able to handle competing priorities in a timely manner
 
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent technical work experience
  • 2+ years developing mappings and workflows using the Informatica platform
  • Experience with system analysis, data mining, workflow design, report writing and related tools preferred
  • Experience accessing, compiling and analyzing large volume data into concise and precise information utilizing SQL Server database programming
  • Hands-on experience with data analytic tools
  • Significant work experience in an environment with emphasis on data warehouse systems
  • SQL experience including SQL database design
  • Experience with ETL and data extracts
  • Experience working with cross-functional disciplines
