Position Title: PKI Integration Analyst
Location: Montgomery, Alabama
Clearance Requirements: Active Secret Clearance Desired; Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Position Description:
Our client is looking for PKI Integration Analyst candidates for a position located in Montgomery, Alabama. The Analyst will prepare plans, coordinates with others to execute, and personally executes other periodic nightly change requests. During normal work hours and periodic on-call rotations, troubleshoots certificate related incidents on a variety of production systems to restore proper operation while meeting established service level agreements. Partners with requestors, UNIX administrators, network administrators, application owners, and external entities to implement certificate solutions that increase reliability and security for enterprise applications.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares requirements, analyzes, designs, documents, and deploys solutions in accordance with standard change control practices.
  • Participates in regular key production activities including new key provisioning using requestor Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs), existing certificate renewals, key distribution, production system configuration, and inventory management.
  • Distinguishes between certs managed by different teams, whether internal or external managed certs. In a time sensitive production environment, reaches out to partners to oversee the resolution of certificate issues.
  • Works with Certificate Authorities, including Symantec and Venafi by generating, issuing, installing, testing and validating digital certificates on a variety of systems, especially web and application servers on Linux (Apache, Tomcat, HTTP Servers, WebSphere, WebLogic).
  • Supports Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) including internal and external CAs.
  • Helps teams implement and troubleshoot certificates on a diverse set of systems and applications.
  • Follows existing certificate processes and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Provides deep dive cert troubleshooting expertise on escalation calls and production support calls.
  • Reports progress using data-driven metrics.
  • May develop shell scripting to automate tasks.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Systems or related field.
 
Required Skills:
  • 2+ years of hands on experience with PKI such as familiarity with Venafi Aperture or Symantec Managed PKI for SSL Control Center, including running expiration reports.
  • Excellent knowledge of security aspects (especially PKI concepts) of networks, servers, and middleware applications, including experience with SSL protocol, TLS protocol, public and private digital certificate signatures, cryptographic algorithms, certificate authorities, certificate file formats, certificate trust stores, encryption/decryption, and associated tools such as iKeyman.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking/routing concepts and familiarity with firewalls, hubs, routers, switches, DNS, gateways, load balancing (F5) and basic network analysis/troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in both UNIX and Windows systems administration and configuration such as being able to navigate, search, determine ownership, execute certificate related commands, etc.
  • Familiarity with PuTTY.
Desired Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience designing/developing business applications or other software preferred.
  •  PKI or other security related industry certification is a plus.
  • Unix and/or Windows scripting experience such as Korn Shell, Perl, SQL, Oracle, Java, Jython, VBScript, PowerShell, PHP, and JavaScript is preferred.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting web, application, and middleware technologies such as WebSphere, Apache HTTP/Tomcat, Mule, DataPower, Oracle Application Server, Mule, Pega, BroadVision, JBoss, GemFire, OpenSSL, MQ, or P8 is a plus.
