Position Description:
Our client is looking for a Director of Procurement for a position located in Huntsville, AL. Strategic and tactical management of the purchased material supply chain. This role includes supplier performance management and development, purchase price change management, strategic sourcing, managing the cost reduction program, working capital management and supplier material flow.

  • Manage the Cost Improvement process for production material, capital equipment, MRO, facilities shop supplies and services to support achieving Financial goals.
  • Creation of value through supplier relationship development.
  • Implement purchase price change management process through implementing standard practices and procedures to identify supplier price changes and initiate actions to recover or share the cost change with the customers.
  • Support the New Product Development process to select sourcing to meet cost targets, delivery expectations and quality needs.
  • Optimize flow of materials from supply chain resulting in continually improving inventory turns.
  • Responsible for external customer interaction to support joint cost reduction initiatives.
  • Communicate and coordinate with executive staff to create value through the leadership of the Procurement Team to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and meet all goals.

Desired Skills:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Engineering or Business and 8-10 years of experience in a materials, procurement or manufacturing management. Certification from ISM or APICS preferred.
