Position Title: Help Desk Technician
Location: Birmingham, AL
Position Status: Direct Hire
Position Description:
Our client is looking for Help Desk Technician candidates for a position located in Birmingham, AL. 
  • Answer and respond to client request via ticketing system, email and/or phone
  • Create helpdesk request tickets and assign to appropriate staff
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support
  • Assist users with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop equipment and software applications
  • Work with multiple computer platforms in a network environment
  • Ensures desktop\laptop computers communicate with file servers, email servers and application servers
  • Hardware and software upgrades
  • Troubleshoot issues with various backup products
  • Will occasionally travel to client offices within the Birmingham area
Required Skills:
  • 3 years of experience with Windows 7, 8, 10 Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet Explorer in order to perform analysis and correct issues
  • 3 years of experience with anti-virus and spyware software
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Linux experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with Windows desktop operating systems (Windows XP, 7, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of desktop peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.)
  • Ability to remove viruses
