The Financial Data Analyst is largely a technical role that will support system development and the direct implementation of solutions that improve Financial Management Reporting and Planning activities.  This includes requirements development, reviewing and aligning master data structures, developing and implementing data governance processes, and proposing / implementing long-term and short-term reporting and planning solutions.  The role will be highly engaged during annual financial planning events that involve system / data preparedness, technical support and end-user security / support.  A critical element of the role is the ability to effectively partner and collaborate with colleagues in Finance and Accounting, Information Systems, stewards of shared data, and vendors / consultants.

•    Identify and analyze business requirements from documents and end-user discussions; identify and define the data requirements necessary to support each reporting and planning process. 
•    Identify and perform detailed analysis of all data sources for each application and subject area; identify and negotiate master data ownership and governance procedures. 
•    Identify and define security requirements, business rules, data integrity / constraints associated with all data.
•    Verify the accuracy and level of information supporting business requirements, as well as subsequent development activities; anticipating the impact to related information and business requirements. 
•    Build reports and analytical tools, provide solutions for projects, optimize the performance and reliability of reports, take corrective action to improve / reconcile as necessary 
•    Play a vital role in the evaluation of data and system solutions.

•    BS Degree in Information Technology, or related field of study.
•    3-5 years working in SQL Server 2012+ or other databases.
•    3-5 years developing analytical data models and designing data extracts.
•    5+ years building software solutions.
•    Experience in data architecture and / or master data governance.
•    Familiarity with IIS and .NET architectural concepts, patterns, and standards.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office software.
•    Ability to travel as required.

•    Experience with SAP Finance software; ECC, BW, and BPC.
•    Experience and / or education supporting or working within a Finance or Accounting team.
•    Experience with a chemical manufacturing business.

•    Manage and maintain database objects in SQL Server.
•    Design data models; cleanse, validate, interpret, and analyze data.
•    Write SQL scripts and queries.
•    Design SSIS packages for ETL.
•    Create SSAS data cubes.
•    Design SSRS reports.
•    System and unit test all deliverables, including positive and negative test cases and manual tests.
•    Document meetings, requirements, and applications.
•    Provide Data Support to NewMarket and Afton Statisticians.
•    Effective written and oral communication skills.
