Title: Red Hat Linux Engineer
Location: Sterling, VA
Clearance: SECRET DoD security clearance is required.

  • Responsible for leading a small team of Linux Engineers. Project planning for migrations and setting/monitoring tasks for Linux Engineers.
  • Install new or rebuild existing servers, services and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain installation, configuration and security procedures.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Responsible for daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
  • Experience with Red Hat Virtualization/CloudForms, and or VMware vCloud/VRealize.
  • Experience with JBoss Web Server and JBoss EAP a plus.
  • Experience with OpenShift a plus.
  • Strong conceptual knowledge of Red Hat Cloud and Enterprise solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat management and provisioning solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of DISA STIG security compliance with the ability to implement FISMA. compliance by applying NIST 800-53 security controls.
  • Ability to keep up with current technology trends as it relates to Linux architecture.
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Individual contributor than can influence consensus for a large cross functional team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands on experience working in an enterprise environment as a Linux Engineer.
  • RHCA or RHCE certification is a strong plus.
