Position Description:
Our client is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer for a position located in Richmond, VA with a government agency.  Candidates must have 6+ years of proven process improvement in an enterprise environment. Candidates must have Six Sigma or any continuous improvement methodology experience.
  • The process improvement program engineer leads high-impact process development and improvement projects to better enable the achievement of business model and strategic plan commitments.
  • Utilizing process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or any industry standard continuous improvement methodology, and stimulating management thinking by challenging conventional thinking, the engineer provides guidance and knowledge to lead change in the organization.
  • Incumbent will exercise sound judgment in directing and mentoring others using the appropriate methods and tools to promote culture change across the organization, and ensure timely implementation of new processes and efficiencies.
  • Responsibilities will include training, leadership of cross functional process improvement teams and the implementation of measures to reflect operational improvements and financial benefits.
  • Advanced technical competency in Six Sigma or any industry standard continuous improvement methodology.
  • Advanced knowledge of policy and operational aspects of project portfolio management functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost structures to pursue cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing large, complex projects to successful outcomes with measurable results.
  • Proven success at building relationships to facilitate efficiency improvements.
  • Sets the tone for continuous enhancements to meet organizational objectives and improve customer service.
  • Strong analytical skills to guide the assessment and implementation of solutions.
  • Ability to effectively analyze all information available to make decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  • Serve as a change leader to identify improvement opportunities and drive changes.
  • Must challenge others to think differently and creatively, and help bring new ideas to fruition.
  • Bachelors degree in Business or related IT field is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 6 - 10 years.
