Position Title: Information Security Architect
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Position Status: Direct Hire
Position Description:
Our client is looking for Security Architect candidates for a position located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Required Education/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required.
  • Manage information security initiatives
  • Architect and engineer solutions for the following items and provide guidance to implementation teams
  • System network best practices
  • Firewall/IDP management
  • Mission critical operations support environment
  • Measure, evaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose system security problems
  • Offer solutions for network performance measurement and fine tuning
  • Coordinate changes in all internet facing firewalls
  • Security patch levels and virus protection signatures on servers and work stations
  • Mentor and collaborate with other team members for the dissemination of information about the security architecture and implementation for products and systems.
  • Conduct security audits in conjunction with clients and partners
  • Work with external consultants to identify gaps and develop solutions for system security
  • Achieve and maintain desired system security certifications.
  • Evaluate and approve security configuration standards and
  • Approve Security Configurations for routers and switches
  • Track vulnerabilities that could affect the environment
  • Answer questions related to impact of enterprise security regarding changes to operating systems, databases or applications
  • Work across multiple groups to assist in identification and mitigation of potential IT risk within the environment
  • Facilitate the operational tasks related to the production of Information Security reports, including internal and external trends
