Position Title: Senior Security Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL
Position Status: Full Time

Position Description:
Our client is looking for Senior Security Engineer candidates for a position located in Birmingham, Alabama.  The Security Engineer’s job is to plan, design, enforce and audit security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements. Responsibilities include recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion. You will provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customers, or corporate security objectives. Another task will be to evaluate and recommend security products, services and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience and a working knowledge of all aspects of business continuity and disaster recovery, including:
  • Coordinating and managing the development and maintenance of recovery procedures for software, hardware, network and infrastructure
  • Defining, documenting and maintaining priority listing of applications and associated hardware and infrastructure
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts on disaster recovery strategies
  • Facilitating disaster simulation/table top exercises
  • Providing guidance to business partners in the planning and execution of a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for critical business units
  • Providing guidance to business partners in resolving business issues related to BCP/DR
  • Delivering effective communications to an enterprise user community regarding system downtime as well as post-downtime root-cause analysis
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Desired Certifications:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred.
  • Certifications in BCP/DR or ITIL preferred
