Position Title: Systems Engineer (Rhapsody)
Type: Contract 
Compensation: Extremely Competitive
Location: Vienna, VA (Remote flexibility)
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret

DESCRIPTION: Provide support to break/fix activities for deployed interfaces and systems. 
Analyze and study complex system requirements. Assist with the design of software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses. Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques. Estimate software development costs and schedule. Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervise software configuration management. Review current status of system applications and prepare recommendations for systems improvements.  
Develops and leads technical projects. Supports monitoring and maintenance of the production interfaces. Investigates system errors and researches impacts to the design and implementation of the interfaces. Maintains overall health of the interface system in production. Will have both on-site and on-call duties; expected to respond to outages offhours. 
Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of conflicting factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met. 
Will operate as part of a team of multi-disciplinary personnel and is expected to provide knowledge and insight into the interface system for troubleshooting and enhancement. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 5+ years related experience. 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:  Experience with the following is essential: • Troubleshooting of deployed IT systems, with specific focus on system applications • Requirements interpretation and decomposition • Software development methodologies, including testing • Software coding techniques • Cybersecurity implementations. 
Experience with the following is highly desirable: • RHAPSODY development, code modification, and troubleshooting.
