Title: Unix/Linux Administrator
Location: Quantico, VA
Clearance: Top Secret required due to federal customer

Responsibilities:
This position is part of the IT Technology Operations division within the NCIS ITD organization and performs the following responsibilities/functions: 
  • Administration, monitoring, and maintenance for Linux/UNIX OS
  • Performs software upgrades, patch installs, and firmware upgrades.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot OS, hardware, network, and related software issues
  • Strong written or oral communication
  • Monitoring SCAP and STIG requirements
  • Troubleshoot and configure using Vsphere
  • Create scripts to automate variety of tasks
  • Conduct staff briefings and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Puppet and Sensu experience preferred, but not required
 
Qualifications
  • 7 years in network/systems administration
  • Bachelor’s degree required but years of experience can be substituted
  • Experience in the following is required:
    • Administering, optimizing, and configuring UNIX and Linux servers
    • Creating and configuring new servers in a virtual environment
    • Working knowledge of Oracle databases, NetApp, and/or Middleware
    • Improving system operations and functionality, monitoring and optimization of the servers
  • IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)
