Position Title: Business Intelligence Developer (Tableau | WebFOCUS)
Location: Birmingham, AL
Position Status: Contract to Hire
 
Position Description:
Our client is looking for Business Intelligence Developer candidates for a position located in Birmingham, AL.  This role will focus on the development of new business intelligence and reporting services while maintaining our support of our existing DB2 Server database. The goal will be to provide a first class reporting experience for our frontline retail and care leaders, corporate leaders, and operations teams. We are looking for an innovative and creative candidate who is motivated to try new technologies and utilize their past experiences to drive our business analytics and reporting services to the next level.
 
The Developer designs and develops internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive the technical vision, data modeling, and data flow for our analytics Domain data warehouse and BI solutions.
  • Work on integrations with other systems
  • Grow close partnerships with business stakeholders and assist in drawing their business requirements. Assist with the outlining their user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist business in leveraging (where advisable) standard process/system capabilities to reduce complexity and customization
  • Tests deliverables against a user story's acceptance tests.
  • Lead system integration projects that will result in on-going cost savings and reduction in technical dept.
  • Contribute to and work to meet feature delivery schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development deliverables, by providing updates on user story progress to development and project management, and by escalating issues that might affect success to management.
  • Provide on call and after hours support as required for production releases and to respond and provide active resolution support on production outages.
  • Proficient at identifying integration issues, data modeling issues, application issues and trends of technical problems to prevent future occurrences.
  • Translate business, and functional requirements into documented technical specifications or User Stories.
Required Skills:
  • Experience in building and developing interactive dashboards with Tableau.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as WebFOCUS.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of data modeling experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with reengineering and defining system migration strategies
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in application support.
