Cloud Engagement Project Lead

Position Summary:
DSD Labs is seeking a Cloud Engagement Project Lead to support migration of new and legacy applications and services to a cloud environment; operations, maintenance, and refinement of an enterprise cloud environment; and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure. The candidate will support clients in their cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain their computing capabilities across their technical landscape. This includes interviewing clients to understand application and infrastructure current state; leading client working sessions to identify, categorize, prioritize and analyze data and information to work into cloud migration action plans; and working with the larger project teams to migrate legacy applications to their cloud platform. The Cloud Engagement Project Lead should have expertise with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) including Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to advance their existing skills in AWS or Azure and gain experience on a large cloud migration effort.
Cloud One is the leading Air Force provider of state-of-the-art cloud computing platforms, technologies, approaches, and solutions. Their mission is to provide common secure computing environments, standardized platforms, application migration and support services, and data management. The program was initiated in 2017 and has quickly stood up USAF's most robust cloud services and hosting platform. Cloud One continues to evolve through both progressive enhancements to the core offerings, plus adopting platform innovations that commercial cloud service providers drive as part of their own product development efforts.  The Cloud One Kickstart (C1K) Team is considered knowledgeable and responsive; and exists to help smooth the migration process, supporting migration vendors and application development teams every step of the way, ensuring a successful cloud migration. We are seeking a Cloud Engagement Project Lead to augment and provide onboarding support to the C1K Team. The Cloud Engagement Project Lead will help in the onboarding activities for applications and systems moving to Cloud One. 
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for operations and migration services that enable Cloud One to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements
  • Utilize the Cloud One’s Engagement tools, CSP native portals and tools, and/or other approved tools necessary to provide operations and migration support
  • Help provide inputs to Cloud One’s Onboarding and Operations, which includes operating processes and procedures, and which has the goal of continuously improving the cloud program, technical, and operational framework required to effectively and efficiently deliver and manage cloud computing capabilities
  • Confer with Cloud One management to define the client’s strategic business information technology goals and advises in the reengineering of business processes to meet those goals.
  • Execute analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed processes, applications, systems, or software
  • Help perform/prepare briefings, project plans, scope, control, management, tracking, or review
  • Direct efforts around business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and process integration with security, architecture, budget and acquisitions
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments
  • Manage reports, cloud infrastructure assets and associated licensing for products/tools
  • Maintain project SharePoint site, update documentation, record meeting minutes, follow up on risks and action items
  • Access SIPRnet to process necessary artifacts and communicate, as needed
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant IT work experience
  • Significant hands-on experience with the analysis of business, functional, technical, activities, and events related to cloud operations
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Secret Security Clearance required (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) customers
Nice to Haves
  • Subject matter expertise (business and/or technical) with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Previous Federal Government experience
  • One or more Microsoft or Amazon Cloud certifications
  • SIPR Token/SIPR access
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Suite of tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.)
