Position Title: Senior PKI / SSL Certificates Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Position Status: 6 month contract
Compensation: Extremely competitive
Shift: Monday - Friday (8am to 5pm)
Specific Duties:
- Consult with other members of business unit and technical users to identify PKI requirements and develop requirements documentation
- Contribute to the technical direction on all areas of PKI architecture, strategies, automation and enforce governance & standards
- Provide guidance to key stakeholders on PKI life cycle, processes and procedures
- Process fulfillment requests (Service requests/Catalog tasks)
- Manages SSL/TLS Certificates associated with the Certificate Authority (CA)
- Monitor Public (External) and Managed PKI (Private/Internal) CA SSL/TLS Certificates for upcoming expiration dates
- Monitor all expiry notifications to ensure no issues result from Certificate expiration
- Revoke SSL Certificates which are no longer being used in both Managed PKI and Public CA portals
- Interact directly with vendor/s and IT customers for troubleshooting of certificate and key related issues
- Update and maintain documentation and process guides for requesting and distributing certificates
- Provide technical guidance moving some of the manual certificate provisioning process to a more automated method possible using other tools such as Venafi, including some scripting experience
- Assist in certificate coordination to ensure successful implementation
- Ability to provide tool and service training
Specific Qualifications:
- Knowledge of X.509 and general certificate management processes
- Experience with public key infrastructure (PKI) and experience with certificate life cycle management, such as Venafi
- Experience with Public Certificate Authority providers
- Certification and experience in IT operational standards such as ITIL v3 preferred.
- Ability to gather and convey information to stakeholders
- Strong analytical, technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions
- 10+ years' experience working in Information Technology
- 3+ years' experience working in Security
- Understands how the IT group operates and how his/her role meets customer needs and creates value
- Candidate must have general knowledge regarding cryptographic methodologies and processes within IT organizations
- General understanding of cryptographic keys, symmetric and asymmetric keys, cryptographic key algorithms and cipher blocks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist customers with a sense of urgency
- Understand of ITIL methodology
