SEC Accountant

Position Title: SEC Accountant
Location: Richmond, VA 23219
Position Status: Direct hire
Salary: Extremely competitive
Shift: Monday - Friday (8am to 5pm)
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant to assist with SEC reporting including the accounting and consolidation of their global operations. Our client is a leading manufacturer and marketer of performance enhancing fuel and lubricant additives with operations around the world.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with SEC and FASB disclosure requirements
  • Assist in the development of detailed footnotes
  • Secure and analyze appropriate data to develop detailed footnote supporting data
  • Assist in filing financial statements (10Q, 10K, 11K) and earnings releases (8K) with the SEC
  • Maintain certain SAP financial accounting modules (SL)
  • Design and prepare reports to meet various internal and external requirements
  • Perform account analyses
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEC requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • Minimum of 3 (accountant) – 8 (senior accountant) years relevant work experience
  • Experience with an ERP software accounting system
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP ERP software
  • Experience with XBRL
  • Experience with WDesk software
  • Experience with accounting for a manufacturing concern
  • Experience in dealing with accounting for global operations including multiple currencies
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • A detailed and in-depth understanding of SEC and FASB reporting and disclosure requirements
  • The ability to analyze, understand, and apply accounting standards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Self-motivated with personal initiative and the ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Able to cope with multiple work interruptions and to maintain focus on details
  • Able to set appropriate priorities and to organize efforts to meet required deadlines
  • Able to use sound judgment to make appropriate decisions based on available data
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to conceive and implement new ideas to improve performance and results
  • Able to work overtime, as required.
