Position Overview:
Seneca’s client is looking for Communicator candidates for a position in Richmond, VA supporting and strengthening the nation’s economy and communities! The candidate will develop and implement strategic communications and comprehensive public relations plans across multiple media platforms with the goal of engaging and educating employees, enhancing public understanding, influencing constituents, fostering a positive image of the Bank, and managing reputational risks. Providing consultation, public relations and media support for internal clients and executive leadership on a variety of issues, including employee relations, contingency planning and response and coordinated media responses.

Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; prudent judgment, and decision-making ability, and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Highly proficient in oral and written communication with the ability to provide clear and concise information to stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization • Thorough knowledge of communications platforms, including digital and social media
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with various other online applications, as needed for the role
  • Position requires continuous visual concentration and manual dexterity to operate PC
  • Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods of time) • Minor lifting and carrying, not likely to exceed ten pounds
  • May require extended work hours and/or schedule flexibility
  • Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary
  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
 
Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of strategic communications plans in support of business areas across multiple platforms
  • Translates complex subject matter into simple, well understood messages focused on the Bank’s business, people, and community objectives
  • Writes articles and covers events for internal and external publications and channels • Provides consultation and guidance to clients to implement communications strategies across delivery channels and leverage content
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal business leaders and other key internal and/or external stakeholders as needed
  • Supports development of multi-media and web communications to ensure business needs and client objectives are met
  • Leverages new mediums and tools to enhance internal/external communications opportunities
  • May have critical essential role in supporting contingency and crisis communications planning and execution
  • Supports cross-functional team initiatives involving development of creative communication solutions
