Senior Database Administrator Lead Needed | Coppell, TX

THE COMPANY:
Leading CCM (Customer Communications Management) outsourcing and technology company specializing in the design, production, and delivery of secure customer communications including invoices, statements, tax forms, collection letters, compliance notices and other business critical documents to any delivery channel including print, electronic and mobile platforms. Strong presence in the Financial Services industry and is expanding into other vertical markets.  
       
THE POSITION:
The Lead Database Administrator position is part of a DevOps team and involves collaborating closely with software developers, product managers, client services, IT Operations, and QA.  In this role, you will leverage your passion for MSSQL Server technologies including strategy, solution design, support and implementing solutions to meet high visibility business demands.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all versions of SQL Server up to SQL 2016
  • Architect enterprise data solutions
  • Coordinate with other teams to facilitate software builds, deployment, configuration and support of applications
  • Escalation point to resolve complex tier 3 db related issues
  • Create db system diagrams and document system changes, updates, and resolutions
  • Provide performance improvement solutions; socialize with development/devops teams
  • Manage db workload, delegate tier 1 tasks and communicate status of open issues to stakeholders
  • Participate in IT Strategy planning, representing db best practice and architecture
  • Make informed, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Implement secure, well documented and maintainable code that adheres to best practices
  • Design db alert/monitor model, ensuring optimal performance and availability
  • Review and refine access/permissions to ensure optimum security
  • Utilize SSRS, Query Store, Extended Events and other late version SQL Server features
  • Participate in 24/7 on call rotation
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years MS SQL Server skills, ODBC, SSIS, Excel, SSRS, PowerBI, Report design and generation
  • Microsoft Windows Clustering and SQL Server AlwaysOn design, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • 3+ years SQL Server transactional replication and associated maintenance techniques for replicated databases
  • 3 + years’ experience with systems and IT operations (DevOps experience a plus)
  • Experience with SQL Server Service Broker
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting SSRS
  • Query Analysis and Tuning
  • Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies is preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, including good technical writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
 
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Powershell scripting
  • DevOps experience a plus
